Moving to a new city can be an exciting but daunting task which requires a massive leap of faith.
Although there’s no crystal ball to help predict how your decision will turn out, there is a cool new website to help you put the cost of living in your new city in context.
I just stumbled across a website called expatistan – it’s a great little website that allows you to compare the cost of living in two major cities in various countries around the world. Although not every cityor country has data available on the site, it certainly gives a good selection of popular locations from which you can deduce how a country or region compares against another. There also looks to be some interesting, although limited, data on things like the cost of an average apartment or dinner out in a given area.
The site itself is nowhere near as thorough as resources like Numbeo but the comparison function is quite a useful little tool.
How do you research the cost of living in a new city? Have any tips to add?
